Welcome!

Greenwich Baptist Church is a community of Christ followers that is committed to growing in our devotion to Jesus Christ. We also want to help others discover what it means to know God personally through Christ, and then to grow in that relationship. We believe this is best accomplished by being connected to a local church where we can support and encourage one another in our spiritual journeys. You're invited to join us at Greenwich Baptist Church as we make this journey of a lifetime together.

"A Devotion to Christ…A Difference in the World"

Most polls report that somewhere around 80% of Americans identify themselves as Christians.  Yet our culture doesn't seem to reflect the values that are consistent with Biblical Christianity and that you would expect in a nation with such a  high percentage of Christians.

Apparently the church isn't having the influence In the world that Jesus intended it to have.  You're invited to join us this fall at GBC as we take a look at what the Bible says it means to be a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and how that devotion can make a difference in the world in which we live.  It happened in the 1st century and, by God's grace, it can happen in the 21st century.

Praying More in 2-0-1-4!

One of the things we plan to do this year is spend more time praying together as a church. The late Baptist minister, Dr. J Edwin Orr, once said, "After studying prayer and spiritual awakenings for 60 years, I've reached this conclusion - whenever God is ready to do something new with his people, he always sets them praying."

This year we will have two weekly opportunities and one quarterly opportunity for you to come together and pray as part of the GBC community:
  • Every Sunday morning from 9:15-9:30 we will meet in the Chapel and pray specifically for our Sunday morning activities and all those leading and attending.
  • Every Wednesday night from 7-8:15 we will gather for a brief Bible Study focusing on prayer and then spend the remaining time in prayer.
  • Then, on every month that has five Sundays (November), we will gather for prayer from 6-7:15 p.m. in the sanctuary.
I want to urge you to participate in one or more of these all-church prayer initiatives and see what God does this year at GBC through our united prayer. Help us to Pray More in 2014.
